- Course slot
- A place on your membership that one course occupies. Three slots means three courses open at a time. A slot is held for the whole billing cycle; at renewal you keep it or free it, and a freed course is parked with its progress and test results intact.
- Preview
- A course's full first chapter, opened without spending a slot. Your plan grants a set number of previews, and they are a lifetime allowance rather than a monthly one — spent once on a course, and not returned.
- Upload token
- What an author spends to turn a book or PDF into a course. Tokens are bought rather than included, so the cost tracks what is actually published, and an author subscription lowers the rate paid per upload.
A membership plan grants course slots. Three slots means three courses open at once, not three courses forever and not three courses a month. A slot is held for the whole billing cycle, so a course you are part-way through cannot be pulled out from under you mid-period. When the cycle renews you decide, slot by slot, which courses to keep and which to free — a freed slot leaves the course parked with all of its progress and test results intact, ready to be brought back into a slot later. If a plan's slots are not enough, capacity extends: recurring add-ons add course slots or video and voice sessions to your subscription, and session packs top up sessions on their own.

01How does membership work, and what is a course slot?
You buy a membership plan rather than individual courses. The plan grants a number of course slots — three slots means three courses open at a time — plus an allowance of previews and a stated amount of video, voice and chat tutoring per period. You choose which courses occupy your slots, and you can move that capacity to different courses over time.
02What happens to my courses when my plan renews?
A slot is locked for the whole billing cycle, so nothing is taken away mid-period. At renewal you decide slot by slot which courses to keep and which to free. A freed course is parked, not deleted: your progress, test results and summaries stay saved, and you can bring it back into a slot in a later cycle.
03How much tutoring is included?
It depends on the plan, and every plan says so on its card. Plans state how many video and voice sessions they include per period and how long each session runs, along with the size of the chat allowance. Where a plan sets no ceiling on a feature, the card says so directly. If you need more than your plan carries, add-ons and session packs extend it.
04What is a preview?
A preview opens a course's full first chapter without spending a slot, so you can read a real chapter before committing one of your places to it. Your plan grants a set number of previews, and they are a lifetime allowance rather than a monthly one — a preview is spent once on a course and is not returned.
05Can I buy a single course?
No. Courses are reached with a membership slot rather than bought individually — no course on Cavua carries a price of its own. What you pay for is capacity, and you point it at whichever courses you want.
